Recognition of support for volunteers
At the end of 2015, our charity Heritage Lincolnshire was awarded Investing in Volunteers certification by the UK Volunteering Forum. This award is the quality standard for all organisations involving volunteers; applicants are assessed against a range of best practice standards before being accredited.
APS carries out a large number of community archaeology projects working with volunteers and the Investing in Volunteers accreditation is an acknowledgement of our desire to ensure volunteers have an extremely positive and rewarding experience. Liz Bates, Chief Executive Officer of Heritage Lincolnshire said “The team is delighted to have achieved this quality standard in recognition of our commitment to our volunteers. We hope this acknowledgement will encourage others to work with us and we look forward to celebrating our achievements together in the future.”
The organisation offers a range of volunteering opportunities to suit people of different ages, abilities and backgrounds and volunteers can benefit from gaining further experience and learning more about their local historic environment. Volunteers also have the opportunity to meet new people, get out and about and enjoy themselves. If you are interested in volunteering with the organisation please contact Heritage Lincolnshire. Alternatively contact APS if you have an idea for a community archaeology project that you would like us to support.
